Tyres, elastic, and tyre covers, tools forremoving and replacing.-A tool for manipulating split rims consists of a pair of clamping devices adapted to be secured to the edge of the rim, one on each side of the cut, and rigid guiding means whereby one clamp is caused to travel in a circular path about the other in a plane parallel to that of the rim. The clamps 10, 16 are provided with open slots 11, as shown, adapted to take over an edge of the rim and be secured thereto by clamp screws 14. The clamps are connected by a pivoted link 18, which may be provided with an extension 26 forming a handle. To allow for necessary expansion of the rim, the pivot pin 15 of one clamp may work in a slot 19 in the link, being maintained in normal position by a spring- pressed plunger 23. In a modification, the slot in the link mav be shaped so as to act as a cam when the link is turned about its pivot 17; or a separate cam plate may be used in conjunction with the link 18. Two devices, one on each side of the rim, may be used and operated by a common handle.
