Wire strainers.-A turntable for aeroplane or other wires or tension members is provided with means for preventing accidental loosening, comprising a rigid yoke having polygonal guiding surfaces for the passage of similarly shaped sliding members, to the ends of which are connected the wires to be strained. In the form shown in Fig. 2 yokes d are provided with spring-pressed pins i engaging recesses b11 in the head of the oppositely threaded members of the turnbuckle b. The screws work in sliders e which are polygonally shaped on the exterior tc coact with similarly shaped guides in the yoke. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, the yoke is replaced by a stout wire A which is bent at its ends B to polygonal shape, the centre portion of the wire engaging in the recesses of the milled head E of the turnbuckle.
