Improvements in and relating to sliding window shutters and doors

Windows; window shutters; sliding doors. - Sliding shutters, window sashes, doors, &c. h are adapted to slide on ball bearings consisting of a channelmember o1 on the door &c. resting on two balls on the support e1, the travel of the balls lying between two rollers r mounted on the door channel, which rollers serve to position the balls in one or other of the extreme positions. The panels are secured in open or closed positions by means of spring- pressed balls n1 adapted to enter sockets s on the frame, an additional pivoted fastening n2, Fig. 4, being provided on one panel adapted to engage over the lock n on the other. The panels may be suspended on a ball-bearing rail by screws and clamps on the rails, and have a guiding groove at the bottom. A pair of hinged boards may be provided to cover the grooves in the sill when the panels are opened. At the upper part of the opening is a fixed window panel and adjustable, louvred shutter.
