[Class 26] In order to assist personal evacuation, a closet is provided with a foot rest attached either to the underside of the seat or to the edge of the pan. In one form, a rail a is suspended by means of members b with hooks b1 from screw-eyes c1 carried by the seat. In another form, the members b are suspended from the edge of the pan by double hooks and in both forms the rail may be formed with separate supports for the feet and may have a rubber covering. The members b may be adjustable as regards their effective length.
