[Class 99 (ii)] A drinking tube or straw of the kind described in Specification 468,979, and comprising two helicallywound offset strips 2, 3 of flexible transparent cellulose derivative, is reinforced by a relatively narrow strip or strips 4 of plain or coloured cellulose or other suitable flexible material helically associated therewith. The reinforcing strip or strips may be positioned between the portions of the main strips which overlap on the same turn of the helix, Fig. 1, or else associated with one of the main strips in superimposed relation and thus positioned between the overlapping portions of adjacent turns of the helix, Fig. 3.
