[Class 112] The handle of a hooked tufting needle is of uniform diameter and furnished with a longitudinal groove, loops are pulled through a ground fabric by the hook and then passed on to the handle. The loops are cut by scissors the points of which are guided by the groove. Detachable, handles of different diameters may be provided and a set of different sized handles may nest one over the other.
