[Class 87(i)] A storey-high building slab formed with vertical holes b and part-circular edge grooves 1 has slots c, e in a side face and the bottom of a groove 1 respectively communicating with holes b to assist the connection of slabs at right angles and edge to edge. The slabs are also used for roofs, jointing mortar entering the ends of the holes b. One side of the groove 1 may be partly cut away.
