Class 6(i) A rotary hoe for use with a tractor provided with an auxiliary driving shaft 9, comprises an inverted U-shaiaed bracket 16 provided with a horizontal hoe shaft mounted between its arms, and a chain case 34 pivotally mounted on the bracket 16 and having an opening adapted to receive a driving sprocket 14 mounted on the tractor. To mount the hoe on a hand guided tractor as shown, a hollow boss on the chain case engages a spigot 12 which projects from the tractor and the bracket 16 is loosely bolted on the tractor, the opening in the chain case boss being elongated to allow the hoe to take up the position shown in dotted lines which reduces the distance between the sprocket centres and enables the chain 33 to be lifted from a retaining stud 41 and engaged on the sprocket 14. Tightening of the bolts 31 takes up the slack in the chain 33. An outer cover is fitted to the chain case and is provided with hinged portions which can be turned outwards to give access to the sprockets 14, 32. A sheet metal guard 48 is mounted on the bracket 16 to prevent earth from flying upwards.
