[Also in Group XXII] In a turbo generator operating about a vertical axis, the support 35 for the rotary structure, which consists of a continuous solid wall converging'downwardly to direct the entering stream of water along a section 36 into the distributer towards the turbine wheel 37, is formed of two flared parts, one of which 38 is secured by a flange at its larger end against an upper plate 39 of the distributer, the larger end 38 of other part 40 having a hooked connection [Group XXII], at 41 to the part 38. The part 40 supports, on an inner shoulder 42, a cylindrical ring 43 which carries the thrust bearing 44 on which rests the weight of the rotary structure. The rotary structure is composed of superimposed collars 46, 50 and 47 supported on and suspended from the thrust bearing 44 the collars being secured together by bolted flanges.
