[Also in Group VI] Tapes or filaments 8, e.g. sutures or ligatures, are arranged parallel to one another and enclosed loosely in a long envelope 3 formed by securing together by adhesive 5 the edges of superposed webs 4, Fig. 3, or a folded web 6, Fig. 4, the envelope being provided with length markings 9, 12 so that it may be cut to provide tapes or filaments of predetermined length. The marks 12 are 3 inches apart, the usual length of a suture or ligature, and the marks 9 ¢ inch apart. The envelope may be wound into roll form or folded in zig-zag manner and enclosed in a receptacle 1 with a dispensing aperture 2.
