720,090. Toothed gearing. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AKT.-GES. May 2. 1951 [May 19, 1950]. No. 10314/51. Class 80 (1). [Also in Group XVI]. A chain delivery for a sheet-printing machine is driven through an epicyclic gear having a sun wheel and an annulus as main members, one of which is driven and the other of which drives the chain wheel 51. Moreover, a disc 47 carrying the pins on which revolve the planet wheels 46 has a follower 53 rolling in a cam slot 54 in a wheel 40 which receives the drive initially and transmits it to one of the main members so that the planet carrier 47 is caused to oscillate (in rotation) and the chain speed is varied, e.g. in order that one of two gripper members on the chain passes a sheet to the delivery table when the. chain speed is less than the peripheral speed of the impression cylinder and a moment later, when the chain accelerates, the other gripper picks up a sheet from the cylinder. The gear wheel 40 is driven by means of its teeth, being supported loosely on its shaft, and in turn drives the sun wheel, mounted on a shaft 43 and bearing a gear 44, through a gear 42 integral with gear 40. The three planet wheels 46 engage both the teeth of a gear 45 on the sun wheel and an inner gear 57 on the annulus, loosely mounted on the hub between gears 44 and 45, so that the oscillatory rotation of the planet carrier 47, due to the eccentricity of the cam slot 54, successively retards and accelerates the annulus. An external gear 48 on the annulus drives a pinion 49 and thereby the chain wheel 51.
