[Also in Group XXX] A clamping device for securing a cable comprises two members 10, 12 each having a longitudinal groove 14 or 16 to accommodate the cable 15 and which can be forced together to hold the cable, and a sleeve split longitudinally into two parts 19 and surrounding the cable. As shown, the wedge 12 is fixed at 13 and slides within socket part 10 bolted together at 11. Sleeve parts 19 have arms 21 fitting into slot 22 formed in the socket so that the sleeve parts travel with the socket when tension is applied to secure the cable. The sleeve parts may be formed with positioning ribs engaging the V grooves.
