A component d for securing in the filler neck of a fuel tank for preventing theft of fuel therefrom has a lower part g of reduced cross-section, a longitudinal bore closed at its lower end f, radial apertures h in the part g and communicating with the bore and longitudinal vent passages k and m which are out of alignment to prevent insertion of a pipe or tube. In an alternative form the passages m may be omitted, the annular baffle i being of less diameter than the filler neck, or the vents k may be angled to prevent theft, the baffle i then being omitted. The component is secured by screws, rivets or the like through the filler neck wall and engaging the upper part of the component which is a flush fit with the neck.
