Class 48 An anti-fouling device for a fish-hook 10 comprises a shaft 14 adapted to slide freely through the eye 11 of the hook and having on one end a shroud 17 for covering the point 12 of the hook and at its other end an eye 15 for attaching it to the fishing line 16, and a spring 18 urging the shroud over the point of the hook. The spring 18 is a coiled compression spring encircling the shaft between the hook eye 11 and the shroud and may be made integrally with the shaft by bending back the shaft and winding it about itself. The cap may be of cylindrical form as shown the end secured to the shaft being closed or it may be of truncated hollow conical form and adapted to cover the barb 13 in addition to the point 12.
