Class 116 [Also in Group XIX] Apparatus for inflating and equalizing the pressure in pneumatic vehicle tyres comprises two manometers each connected to a different one of the tyres by a flexible pipe which is also connected to a distributer adapted to put each tyre into communication with either a compressed air source or the atmosphere. Compressed air is supplied to tyres A, B from a main G by manually operable valves 38, 41, 42, 43, pipes 51, 52, electromagnetic valves 33, 34 and flexible lines 55, 56 which are connected by pipes 57, 58 with the manometer chambers 7, 8. The bores of the manometers 10, 11 are provided with adjustable sliding contacts 28 which are connected by wires 24, 25 to a positive terminal S, whilst the mercury in chambers 7, 8 is connected to earth via electromagnetic valves 33, 34. In operation, valves 38, 41, 42, 43 are opened and the tyres are inflated until the mercury columns in, the manometers contact the contacts 28 whereupon the valves 33, 34 are closed. The tyres may be deflated by opening valves 42, 43 and an exhaust valve 44, or the pressures therein can be equalized by opening valves 42, 43 with valves 41, 44 closed. In a modification (Fig. 6, not shown) the electromagnetic valves are dispensed with and the apparatus is controlled by a pair of slide valves.
