829,625. Fastening railway rails. BAYLISS, JONES & BAYLISS Ltd. March 7, 1956 [March 7, 1955], No. 8072/56. Drawings to Specification. Divided out of 829,623. Class 104 (2). The subject-matter of this Specification is identical with that described in Specification 829,623 but the claims cover the combination of a lower member having an inner end which abuts or lies close to the rail foot to act as a gauging member and having a downward projecting portion on its underface to engage a recess in the upper face of a sleeper or support and an upper laminated spring metal arm having upper and lower limbs integrally connected at their outer ends to form an eye or folded portion which engages a recess in the lower member. The upper laminated spring metal arm and the lower member are apertured to receive a fastening member which engages in the sleeper or support. The laminated spring metal arm is spaced above the lower member, between the rail foot and its outer (eyed or folded) end so as to undergo unobstructed downward deflection when the fastening element is tightened. Specification 829,624 also is referred to.
