Improvements in ventilation means for broiler houses and like appliances

A broiler house is provided with ventilation means comprising air-admitting chambers D along a side wall 4 of the house and in communication with apertures 5 in the said wall and shutter means C which have apertures 8 and are slidably mounted along the side wall to form a hit-and-miss damper arrangement. The chambers D include inclined and longitudinal baffles 27 and 29, the latter serving to guide air either through the bottom or top parts of the apertures 5. One end of the shutter means C which is in sectional form is attached to a rod passing through the end of the house and attached to a pivoted lever, the sliding movement of the shutter being controlled by moving this lever either by means of a push-pull handle or by rotation of a screw-threaded bolt from inside the house. A further hinged shutter 32 is mounted on the inside of the wall 4 and is kept in position by means of a detachable chain 34.
