A mined mineral-transferring apparatus 4 comprises a framework supporting a sweeping arm 11 that is oscillated about a vertical axis 10 over the upper surface 7 of the frame to move mineral delivered to the surface across and clear of the surface. Housed within the frame for driving the arm is rotatably driven gearing reciprocably driving through a crank a ratchet arm meshing with gearing on a rotatable shaft coupled through spring-loaded clutch means to a sleeve rotatably mounted in the frame and carrying the arm 11. The gearing may include a sprocket meshing with a fixed chain so that the gearing is driven as the frame is moved along the chain. The apparatus may be incorporated in a mineral-mining machine 1 and on the frame may then be mounted a number of foldable surfaces 9, 12 and ramps 21 for directing mineral from the cutting means 3 of the mining machine into the path of the arm 11.
