Improvements relating to arrangements comprising magnetic deflecting assemblies for cathode-ray tubes

A magnetic deflecting assembly 2 is clamped to the neck of a cathode-ray tube by use of a ferromagnetic clip 4 which at least partially screens the focusing system 7 of the tube from the deflecting field. As shown, the clip 4 is closed by screw 5 and surrounds a cylindrically extending portion 3 of the assembly 2 so as to be movable therealong in order to optimize the screening effect. The clip 4 may also screen magnets employed to centre the electron beam from the deflecting field which might otherwise de-magnetize them. The deflecting assembly 2 may comprise toroidal and/or saddle-shaped coils.
