A connector housing 2 is secured in a panel aperture by bosses 30 formed on tongues in its side walls 26 and which snap through the aperture, and by resilient T-shaped stops 40 formed on its end walls 24 and which are deformed against one face of the panel. Additional bosses 34 may be formed on the tongues, enabling the housing 2 to be inserted in the aperture in either direction and be retained by the stops 40 and one set of bosses 30 or 34 (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown). The housing 2 comprises blocks 16 and 18 carrying pin contacts 20 and a projecting hood 22, a mating housing 4 comprising blocks 6 and 8 joined by webs 10 and formed with bores carrying socket contacts 13.
