An ever-ready case for a camera is constructed so that both the back and the front fold down. As shown, the main body part 10, to which is attached the carrying strap 40, holds the camera (shown in broken lines). The rear part 12 of the case is hinged to the base 24 of the body part 10 by a strip 22, and folds down into the open position shown. The front part 26 is attached by a similar strip to the base 24, and opens downwards as shown. Front part 26 carries a part 30 which, when the case is closed, covers the top of the camera, and also carries, as an extension of top part 30, a flap 32 which, in the closed position, fastens by a press stud 34 into the closed rear part 12.
