1,132,891. Selective signalling. SOC. NATIONALE DES PETROLES D'AQUITAINE. 8 Feb., 1966 [16 Feb., 1965], No. 5483/66. Heading G4H. Selective voltage peaks from a mass spectrometer are individually digitized and stored by an automatic self-balancing loop which counts clock-pulses while the input is higher than a feedback voltage and which, after each peak has been digitized, this being determined by detecting when the input signal begins to fall, transfers the count to a store, there being one for each peak, zeroizes the counter and switches a different input attenuator into circuit for the next peak. The system also has the feature that if the counter overflows the whole system is reset to await the start of another cycle of the mass spectrometer.
