The floor of a refrigerated warehouse or ship's hold comprises joists 1 which support ridged sheets 3 to form the floor surface. The sheets are formed of metal or reinforced plastics and are screwed to butt-straps 7 on the joists. Adjacent edges of the sheets parallel to the ridges are sandwiched between strips 8 and 13 which are connected by screws 15. The joists may be secured to the tanks or deck 2 of a ship and the space 6 between the joists is filled with cork or polyurethane foam. Preferred dimensions are disclosed.
