1283156 Terminals VARTA AG 13 May 1970 [17 May 1969] 23237/70 Heading H2E [Also in Division H1] A device for electrically connecting an accumu lator to a connecting cable comprises a rectangular terminal 2, mounted on the accumulators "bushing", having a flat contact surface and grooves 4 in the edge walls into which inturned legs of a clip 5 engage, a tongue-shaped terminal 6 being inserted between the clip and the contact surface and pressed on to the contact surface by the clip. Complementary protrusions and recesses 7, 8 lock the cable terminal in place when inserted. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the cable terminal is "locked" using an eccentric turnover stirrup. The clip may be retained on the terminal by the projection 9 in to the groove or may be attached to the cable terminal so as to be non-loosable. The terminal may be formed from leaded brass and the clip from leaded stainless steel.
