[Also in Division C3] Novel N - (NSP1/SP,NSP1/SP - diphenylcarbamoyl) - lactam compounds of formula in which m denotes one of the integers from 2 to 11, are prepared by heating under reflux the dry lactam with triethylamine and diphenyl carbamoyl chloride in toluene. They are used as activators in the anionic polymerization of lactams.
