Many thiadiazolones are specified. 2 - Amino - 4 - cyclohexyl - 1,3,4 - thiadiazolone- 5 is obtained by heating 1-cyclohexylthiosemicarbazide with phosgene. 2-Amino-4-butyl-1,3, 4-thiadiazolethione-5 is obtained from 1-butylthiosemicarbazide and thiophosgene. The acylamino-thiadiazolones possess herbicidal properties and are used in conventional forms as pre- and post-emergence weed killers.
