摘要

The inner electrode is of elongated form and laminated strip formed by a spacer between two ion-selective membranes is wound around it in a spiral, the liquid to be ion enriched being fed in between the outer cylindrical electrode and the coil and out from near the inner electrode whilst the liquid to be ion-depleted is fed in between the membranes in the turn nearest to the inner electrode and out from between the membranes in the outer turn of the spiral. The current density is uniform with resultant increase in electro-chemical efficiency.
