Making reinforced plastics pipes - esp for high pressures by continuously extruding around reinforcement

Methof for mfg. reinforced plastics objects, esp. for high stresses, in particular pipes and profiled members, consists of continuously applying a woven or net-like reinforcement around a core tube or similar core, then immediately applying liquid plastics by extrusion around the reinforcement, thus bonding the fibres together and filling the cavities, at the same time forming a coating layer. Specif., the net-like reinforcement may be stored as an annular roll adjacent to the extrusion head, a core tube being passed through it so that the roll unwinds to form a sleeve around the core, to which extruded plastic is the continuously applied.
