A plunger mechanism presents the fold to the needle. Positioned above the plunger mechanism is a guide section, which engages into the fold, and support it in relation to the needle engaging it. - The guide consists of a finger, fastened elastically and hingeably on the stitch plate. The finger is pressed, due to its gravity, against a spring-loaded holding down unit, also on the plate. - The machine is for the blind stitching of S-like folded material edges, it allows a perfect start for stitching of the folded edge, and avoids any movement of the fold.
