[Also in Division G2] A camera or other article is fitted with a carrying strap 2 of which at least one end portion is releasably connected to the camera or other article 1 by means of a releasable connection comprising a first piece 4 having lipped over flanges defining a recess 8, and a second piece having an enlarged head, said flanges engaging the enlarged head of a projection 7 of the second piece 10 to prevent sideways release of the two pieces but not preventing relative sliding movement of said two pieces, the second piece being insertable into said recess through an opening provided for this purpose in said first piece and a spring catch 14 being engageable with one of the pieces to prevent it sliding relative to the other and having a release surface by means of which the catch can be manually released to permit the pieces to be. slid apart until the head can be removed from behind said flanges through said opening to disengage said pieces, and one of said pieces 4 being attached to the at least one strap end portion and the other 10 to the article. In the construction shown in which each end portion of the strap has a respective connecting piece 4, the spring catch 14 has a nose 13 which is engageable in a recess 12 in the outer face of the connecting piece 10. In an alternative construction in which both end portions of the strap are connected to a single connecting piece the connecting piece is retained in engagement with the connecting piece by a spring catch connected to the body of the camera and which engages one end of the connecting piece on the straps. The or each end portion of the strap is connected to the connecting piece by being passed into a recess and secured by a rivet.
