Pesticidal trithiane derivs. Cpds. of formula (I) (where R1 and R2 are H, 1-4C alkyl, allyl, phenyl, benzyl, cyclopentyl, or cyclohexyl; or R1 and R2 with the adjacent N atom form pyrrolidyl, morpholino, and piperidino; R3 is H 1-4C alkyl) and acid addn. salts thereof show insecticidal, acaricidal nematocidal, and fungicidal properties. Pref. cpds. are (I; R1=R2=Me R3=H and CH3) and (I; R3=H, R1R2N=morpholino and piperidino). (I) may be prepd. by reacting cpds. (II) (where Y is an eliminatable group) with an alkali metal sulphide. In an example, reacting (I; R1=R2=R3=CH3, Y=C6H5SO2) with Na2S in methanol at room-temp. gave (I; R1=R2=R3=CH3).
