In the parent patent, capacitative H.F. welding of synth foil (e.g in mfr. of interior fairing or trimming of motor vehicles) with supporting plate and opt. inter. filling or padding matl. uses a welding press. whose upper and lower tools transfer the H.F current onto pattern-welding electrodes and fold-over electrodes as well as to appropriate mass electrodes. The electrodes are together arranged on the lower tool. An H.F. a.c. voltage may be applied to the fold over electrode independently of the pattern-welding electrode. In the patent of addn. the welding steps to be carried out by means of the electrodes are effected consecutively i.e the fold over electrode to the workpiece first, and n then the pattern welding electrode; the necessary H.F. voltage being applied in each step.
