In use, a plan view drawing is mounted on the base-plate such that the pivot support 20 for the rod 21 is located vertically above a point on the drawing from which the vizier means 32 is moved so as to coincide successively with a plurality of selected points on the plan view. In accordance with the vertical height of objects at these selected points the vertical height of the pivot point of the rod 21 to the vizier means 32 is positioned proportionately so that the marking device 22 will assume, for each selected point on the plan view drawing, a position, relative to a board 25, which is in accordance with both the position of the selected point on the plan view and the height of an object at such point. The marking device 22 which may be a pneumatically operated stylus will therefore produce on a paper attached to the board 25 marks providing a perspective view as would be seen by an observer when located at the selected position indicated by a vizier device 23 on the plan view. The guide rod 21 is universally jointed to a structure 19 at one end of the base-plate 18 and passes through an eye 38 connected to a clampable member 35 which is positionable along vertical rods 34a, 34b connected to a base member 33, the base member 33 defining a vizier and being slideable along horizontal guide rods 30 which themselves are jointly slideable along further guide rods 27a, 27b. A dial gauge 41 and blocks 39 eccentrically mounted on a rod 40 are used to set the vertical position of the guide rod 21 at the vizier 33.
