The front rear and side sections of the girdle are sewn together so that the fabricated garment would completely encircle the wearer. One of these sections has an openable part. This may consist of a slit fitted at the edges with a slide-type fastener. Inside the slit and on view when this opens are two elastic panels which cross each other diagonally and are stitched to the side edges of the outer panel. In this way the present girdle overcomes the disadvantage of conventional garments in providing easy donning and doffing. This is accomplished by opening the slit and allowing the inner elastic panels to stretch.
