1346824 Skin-treating compositions COLGAT-PALMOLIVE CO 19 April 1971 [6 April 1970] 25895/71 Heading A5B The development of oiliness on the skin is retarded by application of an oil-free suspension of pyrogenic colloidal silica in an aqueousalcoholic medium, at least 90% of the silica particles having diameters between 2 and 20 millimicrons, the suspension containing 0.5 to 10% by weight of silica, at least 5% water, 5 to 90% C 2-4 aliphatic alcohol and up to 10% of an organic thickening agent, e.g. a vegetable gum, a cellulose derivative or a carboxy poly lower alkylene. Exfoliants, bactericides and fungicides may be included in the compositions.
