Equipment for winning and conveying coal on longwall faces in mines especially a coal plough and scraper chain conveyor includes a driven reversible round link chain which at predetermined time intervals has to be lubricated. The lubrication is carried out by stationary equipment attached to the conveyor near the chain drive of the plough or the conveyor and projecting over a short length of the lubricated slack part of the driven chain. The lubricating equipment which is mounted on the gob side of the conveyor is fitted with nozzles apced along the short length of chain, lubricating oil being sprayed on the slack part.
