Energising arrangement for brushless synchronous generator includes the supply of energising current from the rotor of an a.c. energising motor to the coil of the synchronous motor via rotating cartridge-like rectifying elements which are attached to the inner surfaces of light metal d c. slip rings. These are arranged symmetrically and are insulatingly attached to a disc connected to the rotating shaft; further, each ring is embraced by a tensioned band consisting of an insulating strip or sliver impregnated with synthetic resin which is cured after application, pref. a glass strip or glass rovings impregnated with epoxy resin.
