The mattress is composed of a number of sections, of flexible cellular material of different degrees of elasticity, assembled together. It can be in the form of four parallel-piped-form sections and a fifth component covering one of them. The head end section can be of less elasticity than the one next to it, which in turn can be followed by one of the same elasticity as the head end one, and so on, and the cover can have a series of diagonal grooves in it, forming it into lozenge-shaped sections.
