Water removable film-forming compositions for topical application to skin

Compositions for topical application to skin and films made therefrom, said films being flexible, continuous, substantially non-cracking, and water removable in two minutes or less. The compositions comprise an aqueous emulsion of a water insoluble film-forming polymer having a minimum film-forming temperature of less than 37 DEG C. and 2.0 to 50 percent by weight water soluble film-forming polymer, and can be used as vehicles for medicaments or therapeutic agents, as protective barrier films and as cosmetic bases.
