1366062 1 - Acyl - 3 - aminosulphonyl - 2- imino-benzimidazolines BAYER AG 8 Feb 1973 [9 Feb 1972] 6194/73 Heading C2C Novel 1 - acyl - 3 - aminosulphonyl - 2- imino-benzamidazoline derivatives having the general formula wherein X is halogen or (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl or alkoxy; n is 0, 1 or 2; R and RSP1/SP are (C 1 -C 6 ) alkyl groups optionally substituted by halogen nitrile and/or (C 1 -C 4 ) alkoxy; or R and RSP1/SP together with the intermediate nitrogen atom represent a (C 4 -C 7 ) heterocyclic which optionally contains oxygen or sulphur as further hetero atoms, and RSP11/SP is (C 1 -C 6 ) alkyl optionally substituted by (C 1 -C 4 ) alkoxy or halogen; (C 3 -C 8 ) cycloalkyl; aralkyl optionally substituted in the aryl part by halogen or (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl; aryl optionally substituted by halogen and/or (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl or alkoxy; or (C 1 -C 6 ) alkoxy, are prepared by reacting a 1-amino-sulphonyl-2-aminobenzimidazole of the general formula with either (i) an acylating agent of the formula or (ii) with an anhydride of the formula in the presence of a diluent and of an acidbinding agent. The process is preferably carried out at a temperature of from 50‹ to 150‹C. The novel compounds may be used as fungicides.
