A risplay or advertising board having an apparent relief pattern is made as follows: motifs are placed (esp. glued) on the front and rear faces of a transparent pane, so that the impression of a relief pattern is a function of the thickness of the pane. Pref. the front motif is on transparent adhesive sheet, esp. printed by offset, photo-litho etc. or direct printing onto cardboard, paper, PVC, and the rear motif is similar, or is on opaque sheet.
