Compact drive for cine projector - has two coaxial electromagnetic clutches for forward and reverse drive

The sprocket wheel is driven from the motor via two electro-magnetic clutches driven by a drive wheel coupled to the motor by a belt drive. One clutch operates in one direction and the other in reverse. The electro-magnetic system operates quickly to provide a rapid film acceleration. The clutches are mounted coaxially with the input and output drives of the system with one clutch coupled to the output via one gear wheel and the other via two gear wheels, to generate the reverse drive. The relative sizes of the clutches and gears are chosen so that a compact system is obtained.
