Belt grinding machine with a driven, endless grinding belt which is passed over two end rollers and has a grinding support inside the grinding belt, extending parallel to a grinding section of the belt, where the grinding support can be adjusted parallel to itself. The grinding support also has a variable arching, and there is a flexible plate on the top side of the grinding support, which is connected with a length-adjustable under belt. The flexible plate is of flat steel of spring quality, and is curved by the action of two levers perpendicular to its undersurface pulled together.
