Battery-operated alarm clock - with alarm source employing coil shunted by light-emitting diode

The light-emitting diode, connected in shunt across the coil is used to illuminate the alarm switch-off button and/ or the watch face and/or the watch hands. An additional switch is provided, by which the alarm signal source can be switched on independent of the set alarm time. Means are provided such that by operating the latter additional switch, the frequency and/or the volume level of the alarm signal source is varied, so that no disturbing alarm signal is supplied. Pref. the switch is associated with an element for damping the oscillation of the membrane or the magnetic armature of the alarm source.
