Vacuum degassing of molten metals - in double-walled cowl with reflector over ladle

A ladle with the molten metal is placed for vacuum degassing in a double-walled chamber, formed by a dome-shaped cowl which rests with a seal on a platform. A vacuum pump can be connected both to the chamber and, through a non-return valve, to the space between the double wall. A reflector is arranged inside above the ladle. This system reduces the heat losses to a minimum without requiring the application of external heat sources. It is very suitable for smaller works.
