Mechanical closure for fixing the grinding discs to polishing or grinding machines for floors etc. where a bayonet closure has, for each locking component, a radial pin connected to a connecting top between grinding disc and machine. This pin engages in a recess which is fitted directly or indirectly to the top edge of the grinding disc, and consists of a peripheral locking section and an axial inlet opening. In the region of one of the connecting components is a locking device which consists of a spigot which is held on the top and can be introduced into the opening in the recess for locking and withdrawn from it for unlocking. In the locking position, the pin is prevented from leaving the recess opening.
