The platform (1) is mounted on a lorry by parallelogram structures, each of which has a part (2) hinged at one end on the lower platform and the other end hinged (4) on a support (5) on the vehicle. A similar part (6) is hinged (7) below and above (8) similarly. The first part (2) is rigid whereas the second part (6) is in two parts, hinged on a pin (10) which allows the length to vary. The pin (8) is an extension of a driven shaft (16) with a cheek (18) joined to the rod (20) of a hydraulic jack (22). The shaft (16) carries a cam on which runs a roller on an extension of part (6), the cam limiting the relative movement between the two parts of part (6).
