Package for pressed fruit - uses pieces of plastic film placed between sections of compressed fruit block

The block of compressed material is cut into sections. Against a face of each section is placed a thin piece of plastic film (8). The size of the piece is smaller than the face of the section of material, leaving uncovered regions round its edges (9, 10, 11, 12). Air is excluded from between the material and the film. When the sections of the fruit are placed together again, the adhesive nature of the material holds the block together. Wrapping the block restores full rigidity. When being used the block can be easily and cleanly separated into its parts. The plastic film can be perforated to improve the adhesion between the sections.
