1381014 Fire-proofing fabric and improving dye receptivity DOW CHEMICAL CO 20 July 1972 [26 July 1971] 33950/72 Headings D1B and D1P 2 (2, 4, 6-tribromophenoxy) ethanol is applied to polyester, polyamide or cellulose triacetate fibres in an aqueous bath to impart fire-retarding and dye-receiving properties to the fibres. The aqueous bath may contain dyestuff, e.g. disperse red 1, 55 or 60, disperse blue 55 or disperse yellow 23, NaH 2 PO 4 , and biphenyl. Examples of polyamide and polyester fibres are specified. The specification refers to the corresponding use of pentrabromophenoxy ethanol and 2-(2, 4, 6 tribromophenoxy)-2-propanol.
