1513160 Dyestuff preparations; optical brightener preparations CIBA-GEIGY AG 8 May 1975 [9 May 1974 2 Sept 1974 18 Dec 1974] 19516/75 Headings D1B and DIP Dyestuff preparations comprise a dispersion of particles having sizes less than 10 microns comprising (a) at least 10% by weight of water, (b) a finely divided dispersed dye or optical brightener insoluble to difficultly soluble in water in an amount of at least 30%, (c) at most 10% of an anion active dispersing agent (d) at most 5% of a non-ionic dispersing agent, (e) at most 35% of a hydrotropic agent. Vat and disperse dyes are employed especially those disperse dyes suitable for transfer printing. The preparations are obtained by grinding the dye or optical brightener with the dispersing agents, the remaining components being added before, during or subsequent to the grinding process. Substrates treated with the compositions include polyester, polyamide polyacrylonitrile, cellulose acetate and cellulose triacetate. Optical brighteners may be applied by a hot-padding process.
